Upon arrival in Koh
Samet is a Tourist Information Center at the pier. It is
more a travel agent than anything else, where all the
tour brochures and accommodation costs. To start with a
good map is all you need, and you get better information
from hotel or local taxis.
Alternatively, if you have time, in Rayong is a Regional
Tourism Authority of Thailand office in the vicinity of
Tapong Fruit Market (30 minutes from the pier in Ban Phe).
Do not expect too much, but one danger in better maps
and some nice and colorful guide.
Internet services are available along the beaches in the
Sai Kaew Beach, beach and Ao Phai Vongduern. They are
purely functional and not lust on Internet cafes, but
dialup speed is acceptable, and it is cheap. |
